Image
December 31, 2020 Press Statement ...Commends Citizens For Their Resilience Despite Challenges of 2020 The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) urges Nigerians to go into Year 2021 with a renewed zeal in spite of the harrowing experiences of Year 2020, which witnessed untold bloodletting and excruciating economic hardship brought by the insensitive and treasury-looting All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Buhari administration. The party commends Nigerians for their resilience and an unshaken resolve to stand by one another in the face of total failure of governance under the APC, a party that has portrayed itself as a vehicle for power grabbing and treasury looting. The PDP recalls with sorrow how the APC and the Buhari administration abandoned our compatriots to a life of misery at the mercy of looters, bandits, terrorists, kidnappers and vandals, while President Muhammadu Buhari, in whose hands Nigerians entrusted their fate, hide inside the Presidential villa. It is lamentable that th...

Image
Good sex great for your physical, psychological health Whenever I am privileged to tell couples that sex not only adds to their lives but enhances their health, both physical and psychological, it seems to be an eye-opener for many people. Whenever any of the spouses is in the mood for sex, do you know that such a partner is indirectly boosting his or her immune system or maintaining a healthy weight? Yes, good sex offers those health benefits and more because we are vital, sexual creatures. Sex does the body good in a number of ways, the benefits aren’t just subjective or hearsay but backed by scientific scrutiny. Having sex once or twice a week has been linked with higher levels of an antibody which can protect your spouse from getting colds and other infections. While some older couples may worry that the effort expended during sex could cause a stroke, scientists found frequency of sex was not associated with stroke. Instead, sex lowers blood pressure and produces overall stress re...

Kukah’s Attack On Buhari Draws More Criticism, Backing -

Image
Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese Matthew Hassan Kukah’s scathing attack on President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday raised more dusts. Northern groups and Southern elders disagreed over calls for Kukah’s arrest for his discreet call for undemocratic removal of the President from office. The Federal Government at the weekend lashed out at the cleric and urged him to “stop stigmatising the President over nepotism claims”. While the Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG) and the Arewa Youth Consultative Forum (AYCF) faulted the bishop’s comments, the Southern Nigeria and Middle Belt Forum said Kukah merely spoke truth to power. Kukah said in Christmas message: “This government owes the nation an explanation as to where it is headed as we seem to journey into darkness. The spilling of this blood must be related to a more sinister plot that is beyond our comprehension… “Every honest Nigerian knows that there is no way any non-northern Muslim president could have done a fraction of what President B...

The Endsars Youth Movement Is The Guardian Newspaper Person Of The Year 2020

Image
Person Of The Year: Our messengers of hope Authorities in the country didn’t know enough to know that their children, sorry, the youth they have tagged as lazy and docile are well aware of the classics from a social change icon that one of the greatest liabilities of history is that all too many people fail to remain awake through the great periods of social change. They (the youth) have been awake.  They have also imbibed the fact that ‘every society has its protectors of status quo and fraternities of the indifferent who are notorious for sleeping through revolutions. The young ones in Nigeria who have seen vision of their country through learning and re-learning have noted too that their very survival depends on their ability to stay awake, to adjust to new ideas, to remain vigilant and to face the challenge of change. The EndSARS connoisseurs don’t believe in charity anymore. They believe in solidarity. They are aware too that charity is vertical and so it’s humiliating: it goe...

Don’t Twist Kukah’s Christmas Message, CAN Warns

Image
The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in the 19 Northern states and Abuja has expressed great shock over what it described as attempts to further divide the nation by the Presidency, the leadership of Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) and other individuals and groups aimed at “twisting the crux of the homily Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah gave at Christmas.” CAN Northern States in a statement issued and signed by its vice chairman, Reverend John Joseph Hayab that “Of grave misgiving is the baseless claim in a statement signed by the President of MURIC, Prof Ishaq Akintola, that Bishop Kukah had “referred to Islam as a violent religion” and “calls for a coup.” According to the statement, “That such a statement comes from Prof Akintola is not only laughable but misleading and tissue of lies. Records show MURIC’s leadership is often careless with assertions and many times acting as if it was a political platform instead of a religious one”. CAN 19 northern states and Abuja, therefore, conde...

He said, “We are quite aware of the 2020 Christmas Message by our revered Bishop Hassan Kukah and the enormous space it has enjoyed on social media and in the public sphere. “As expected, the agents of evil have gathered to attack the person of the Bishop and to discredit the simple obvious truth of the message. This is the stock in ...
